Nicki grew up in Chadds Ford, PA with three sisters. Her love for animals started at a young age. Her parents had chickens, horses, rabbits, and other animals and Nicki helped take care of them all. Even though she would doodle and draw when she was young, she didn't really realize her passion for drawing animals until she was in her 20s.
Nicki is a self-taught artist. She loves to work with pen, pencil, and charcoal. Each of her drawings has a unique personality of its own. Her latest passion to draw is the Shoebill Stork. Most of Nicki's drawings are black and white, she does a few that incorporate color. We talked about black-and-white art vs color. Nicki felt that by doing her drawings in black and white, you could give the drawing your own meaning. Filling it with your own story of color, giving it life as you see it.
